1. OUR COMMITMENT
Northstar Show Systems is committed to ensuring that our websites, Customer Portal, and documentation are accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
2. STANDARDS
We target compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA across all public-facing web properties. This includes:
- Perceivable: Text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, adaptable content that can be presented in different ways, sufficient color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Operable: All functionality available via keyboard, sufficient time to read content, no content that causes seizures, clear navigation and wayfinding.
- Understandable: Readable and predictable content, input assistance for forms, consistent navigation.
- Robust: Content compatible with current and future assistive technologies, valid semantic HTML, ARIA labels where appropriate.
3. SCOPE
| Property | URL | Target Conformance |
| Main Website | northstarshowsystems.com | WCAG 2.1 AA |
| Customer Portal | portal.northstarshowsystems.com | WCAG 2.1 AA |
| Documentation Site | docs.northstarshowsystems.com | WCAG 2.1 AA |
| Training (LMS) | Portal embedded | WCAG 2.1 AA |
| Cuemaster Dashboard | Helm local (10.0.0.1:3000) | Best effort |
Note: Cuemaster is a local dashboard served by the Helm server on an air-gapped network. While we design it with accessibility in mind, its operational environment (venue control booth, often in low-light conditions) may warrant interface choices that prioritize operational safety over strict conformance.
4. MEASURES TAKEN
- Accessibility is included as a requirement in our Portal PRD (NSS-PORTAL-PRD-001).
- We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and alt text throughout all web properties.
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable via Tab and operable via Enter/Space.
- We test with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) during development.
- Our responsive design supports screen sizes from 375px (mobile) to 2560px (ultrawide).
- We maintain a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
5. KNOWN LIMITATIONS
While we strive for full conformance, some areas may have limitations:
- Older PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are working to remediate these.
- Some data visualization charts (Recharts) may have limited screen reader support. We provide text alternatives where feasible.
- Third-party embedded content (payment forms via Stripe) is governed by the third party’s accessibility practices.
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Northstar web properties. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

- Portal: Submit a ticket with category “Accessibility”
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and provide a resolution or remediation timeline within 30 days.
7. AUDIT SCHEDULE
Northstar conducts formal accessibility audits on the following schedule:
- Customer Portal: Annual third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit (prior to GA launch and annually thereafter).
